About

My name is Ruby Craft. I’ll be sharing from my heart, the real me.Sometimes I’ll share what is on my heart, and mind from a preacher’s wife point of view. Other times I will share a recipe, or a painting. I will reflect the good, the present, and the future.

Life as a pastor’s wife for 52 years has been something that I have grown to love. I always wanted to be in Christian, Ministry. I was shy when we started out in our ministry, and being in a big, church was not easy those first, years. I did not like to talk, write, sing, or perform. Ed was the gregarious one. He helped me, by being, patient.

I taught in the public schools where Ed and I lived. I majored in Education, and minored in Psychology. I thought it would be a good combination for teaching school children, and working with adults. I wish I had taken more psychology.

I enjoy life in retirement after teaching over 20 years. I tutored after I resigned from teaching. Now I focus on cooking, and art. I have several paintings hanging at the church where my husband is pastor. I love planting a small garden at home in the Spring, and watching it grow up taller than I am.

There are 8 other blogs that I write on. I have written several novels, and I am still working on another one. I don’t publish them except on Word Press. I have joined other authors to write like crazy for the month of November. It is challenging, and fun to do this for a month. Last year I continued the novel I started.

I hope you will visit often, and make this  place your favorite. The other blogs are: Rubie Do, rubiedonovels, Rubies Jewels, Rubies Songs, rubiesrecipes, waitjustamoment,Rock a bye Ruby, and Rock a by Ruby

Thanks for coming by the blog, and for deciding to follow. I have never been to Maine. My family would travel up the East Coast when I was in high school, and we made it to Canada, and the famous Falls there. I would spell it out, but I keep getting a red line that says I have misspelled the word. Niagara Falls is what I wanted to say. Hey, the red line disappeared! Thanks for coming by Rubies Corner.

YES, I LOVE TO PREACH. ED WAS SICK, AND IT WAS TOO, LATE TO CALL SOMEONE. I HAD 15 MINUTES TO GET READY. SO I BOWED MY KNEES, AND ASKED GOD WHERE TO TURN, AND WHAT TO SAY. HE GAVE ME PLENTY, BUT WHAT I RECEIVED WAS HIS GRACE, AND HELP. I LOVED THE EXPERIENCE!

I am going to the church to make pot pies for tonight’s supper.Iit takes about an hour for them to be made, and baked for tonight. Hot food, on a cooler day.

I pray over the meal before I go to cooking. I tried out the pot pies on my family last night. They will work for tonight. I put carrots, potatoes, and sauce together with chicken. It turns out nicely with the Pillsbury crust.

I need all the help I can get. I haven’t been to cooking school, but Ed’s mom was a wonderful cook. She made pies, so I learned from the best. I still pray over the meals, and whatever I make. I want His Presence in the food, and His blessings over all the kitchen. Being a wife of a minister is not always easy, but God gives me wisdom, grace, and He helps me shut my mouth. I pray over the food, the meal, and the chatting.

I LOVE TO PREACH FROM DANIEL. I LOVE TO PRAY, AND HE WAS A MAN OF PRAYER. HE HAD TO BE. ROMANS 1: IS WONDERFUL. I THINK I SPOKE ON THE ASSURANCE WE CAN HAVE IN THE LORD, THAT HE IS WITH US.
TODAY I STUDIED ABOUT HIS MIGHTY HAND TO SAVE. I SANG THIS IN A MADE UP SONG TO HIM. HIS HAND IS MIGHTY TO SAVE!

Nice to meet you from the solidarity support group. I remember arguing and cursing never to be a pastor’s wife. I envy those who stood through it all. It is not easy.

Like

No, it is not easy, but I have One who stands inside me, and gives me wisdom to shut my mouth. I have gone from chatty, to quiet in a few weeks, because I believe the peace of Christ is within me, and He wants to talk through me. I pray, and then get quiet. Wisdom comes. Titus 2,3 was wonderful today. I read like I hadn’t read it before. I had not in a long time.

I wanted to go into full-time Christian service. I thought I was going to be a missionary, and I went to a Bible college in South Carolina my first year out of high school. It was the wrong place to be all year, even though I felt led.
A good friend told me about the college she was attending, and I came to that school and started studying to become a teacher. That was many years ago, but it was God’s direction. Thank you for writing . I believe the blessing of the Lord makes you rich on the inside in knowing Him. I found my husband at the school I attended to get my certification in teaching. Odd………..how God leads.

Odd… how God leads indeed. My dream of being a Pastor’s wife wasn’t actualized but I am blessed with a loving God-fearing man. Maybe he will get into full time ministry in the future…but let’s see how God leads:-)

Thank you for coming by. I was raised in a pastor’s home, and I sought full-time Christian work. I taught school in the public schools for 20 plus years. God has been with me, and I learned the Lord’s ways when I would pray about my classes. His wisdom is wonderful.
