What is Relaxing?

For me, getting my feet up for a little while is relaxing. I do this because my ankles have been swelling. I found some medication that was prescribed for swelling. I am making sure I take it. This works. When I have cleaned for an hour, I sit down for a little while, if there is still more to clean. I wonder if I will ever finish.

I don’t spend all day in front of the television, but it is relaxing to watch a good, movie. Usually there is someone who wants to watch a movie with me. Ed sits rarely in the day time. He is work oriented. Isaac will sometimes get a movie started, and then go write.

Relaxing is to find your resting place. I love to sit in a cloth lounge chair. I bought one, and then our dog showed up at church. We took him home, and he moved to the lounge chair almost immediately. He is still our dog, and this dog has beautiful coloring of brown, black, and white. He is big, and he is about 88 pounds. He loves to chew on anything.

All our old furniture has been chewed, and the sitting places are where our dog dug them out. Well, our dog is older, and the lounge chair is still where he sleeps. I insist. When he is asleep, all of us know we love this dog, but he is quite a dog.

I need to mop the Floor.

I have a mop, but when I have time, I love to mop the floor with my feet. This is good exercise. I use a dry rag, and push it around, after I put a little cleaner on the floor. The cleaner is a jell substance, so it doesn’t run. This works, and I still get exercise at the same time. I bend over some, but really, a good, slightly damp rag, will clean corners that will make you bend down to get them cleaner. I don’t clean the floor always with my feet. It is harder to do with others in the kitchen. I wait until everyone is gone, and then I mop the floor. I noticed a long time ago that mops are wonderful, if you can find a light weight thinner string mop. I love this kind. When I have a shorter time to work, I do it with my hands, or with my feet. The dirt does come up because I use a wet paper towel. At times I use water. I see the dirt coming up because the paper towel is dirty.

I bend down, stand up, and bend again.

I bend down every time I get something off the floor that I am picking up. It is wonderful exercise, and soon that spot where something laid is cleared. I cleaned out two shelves in the hall closet. We have two, closets in the hall, and this one had things that we don’t use. I put every thing on the floor, and emptied the shelf. It was full of things. I restored the shelf with what I wanted to put in there. I have towels in the hall closet.. They are too many for the bath room closet, but they are clean. I store them for the pets, because we use old towels to make their beds more comfortable. We use them daily, and this closet is organized now.

The rule I best remember regarding organization, is to put one, thing in each spot. I am tempted to put two things, but I have been following this rule.

. I believe in organizing. I carry a tiny, purse. I have cleaned it out daily, until I don’t have to. I don’t add anything to the purse. It is a shoulder purse, or I can carry it with the provided handles. It is lighter, and it won’t make my back hurt for being so, heavy.

I Checked the Scales.

I have a weight scale by the wall in the den. It is easy to hop on the scale and see if I have gained, or lost weight. I hopped on today, and I haven’t changed. I am the same as three days ago. I eat three meals, and hopefully I will maintain the simple diet plan. No sweets is one of the things on the plan. I can do without bread, but sweets are still a challenge. I can go off potatoes, and that is easier. Fruit I like, but they are too sweet at times. I will wait for my weight to move down. That is the only direction of interest.

Behind the Curtain.

I see a tail that is hanging down from the flat surface behind the curtain in front of me. This is a short window, and our Charlie cat is sitting in the window seal watching the birds. He can sit in the window for an hour without moving. I have noticed that he finds windows in other rooms where we are. Charlie is long, big, and mostly loving, and quiet. He has huge eyes, and a long tail with his body. I do think he is beautiful, and yes, he is a stray. He has been here for some time, and we named him Charlie for some reason. Isaac says I named the pets. I don’t remember now, why I would name him Charlie. It is a good name for his disposition.

I’ve Been Cleaning.

We have a few cats in the house. We clean up the house more because of the cats. They are not hard to tend. Isaac is in charge of the pets, and he is a gentle person with them. Today I have been getting the den cleaner. I swept behind the couch, and usually I find dust balls when I sweep. It isn’t always dirty, but I clean anyway. Our den is small, and the cats love to sleep there. The television is in the den, so we watch shows, and the news from there. I make the place as comfortable as I can. It is nice to have one room dedicated to relaxing, or reading.
